Reflecting on Website Evaluations

I felt like this activity was not particularly useful for me. I have done many activities like this and have discussed how to evaluate websites in most of my classes. I think this would be very useful for someone who has not thought about evaluating websites before. It is important to know where the information you are obtaining and using is coming from, especially when you are sharing it as academic material. This is extremely important as an educator, and everyone should be aware of it. I don't know that this activity was helpful for me since I have already done this, but I agree with the need to do it in this class in case someone hasn't.
It was interesting to see the different aspects of what makes a good page. It has become somewhat second nature to look for these, that I haven't thought about all of the components of a good website. This activity was good to refresh my memory.

  1. I'm glad that you've had opportunities in the past to do website evaluations in your courses. We never know sometimes as educators whether or not something we are doing in class is repetitive of what is going on in other classes or if we're the only course that touches on the topic. Good that this activity refreshed your memory and reinforced the importance of evaluating websites.
